The Mission of a Toastmasters Club

The Mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop and practice communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

Values of Spinnaker Toastmasters Club

Being a Spinnaker Toastmaster means more than simply making a commitment to self-development. By joining Spinnaker Toastmasters Club, you are making a commitment to the club, your fellow Toastmasters and to the Toastmasters organisation worldwide.

Spinnaker Toastmasters promise to:

attend club meetings regularly
prepare all speeches to the best of their ability
prepare for and fulfill meeting assignments
provide fellow members with helpful, constructive evaluations
help the club maintain a positive friendly environment for learning and growing
serve as a club officer when called upon to do so
treat fellow club members and guests with respect and courtesy
bring guests and friends along to club meetings so they too can see the benefits that Toastmasters membership offers
adhere to the guidelines and rules for all Toastmasters educational and recognition programs
maintain honest and highly ethical standards during the conduct of all Toastmasters activities

You agree to these values by signing the Toastmasters Membership Application Form. On acceptance of your application, you are formally voted in to the club, and your name is placed on the forward speaking schedule with a suitable role.
